Application Tungsten
Tungsten is well known as a metal used for light bulb filaments as well as for X-Ray tubes. Many X-Ray devices produced by J&C Bachmann are utilizing such tubes. Tungsten’s high melting point with 3422 °C makes this metal ideal for such applications. It is also used for arc welding and radiation shielding.
Tungsten is mined in many parts of the world. Largest deposits are located in China, Peru, United States, Korea, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Austria and Portugal. Although the grade is often small, this valuable metal can be mined economically.
Tungsten can be detected excellently by TEXAS due to its high ordinary number. Also, Tungsten can be monitored in boreholes using IBERIA.
